FIlm Festival

Kia ora, Me and my entire school have our 12th Manaiakilani Film Festival. Today all of the local schools are heading down to Sylvia Park Hoyts to see all of the wonderful films that everyone has been working on. You are also able to come down to the film festival to see all of our films that we had worked so hard on. The tickets are only 2 dollars per person. Our film is about our enviourment because everthing is becoming a humungous mess. It is really inspiring and it could change your mind to saving the world.

Powerful Wheather

Yesterday on Wednesday we had seen and witnessed a very powerful and
strong blow of wind which was exciting.

My whole class was in the mddle of our mock writing test and we had no
idea that this was going to happen. It strucked all of us by surprise and
we didn’t see it coming at all. We were all so satisfyed by what happeed
to our school, little branches were falling down, our flag pole was
bending so hard it could of broke and flew away. Also
our last one was our trees for survival little spot all their hard
work was just a waste of time. 

But when we got past all of the bad wheather somehow we got one of the
sunniest but coldest days ever and it’s in the summer.

I was so surprised for what I had just witnessed it was so cool and for
some reason I just wanted to see what it felt like to blowwww away.
But I didn’t get to, because the wind wasn’t hard enough and I was too
heavy to get blown away. I really liked seeing it. We were all YELLING!!!
till our lougns fell out.

Our last part was lunch when we were playing soccer and it just
seemed like the wind was on the enemys team. By helping them curve
the ball and helping them with a lot of things which made them have
bad sportsmenship which made my team a little pissed off. Because
they just kept on rubbing it in like we were just a bunch of dogs vs a
bunch of bad sportmenship players.

But we still got through it and the wheather suddenly turned cold
when everything was getting out of hand. I just thought it was a
quenceident because the timing was perfect and also the sky
turned grey. But when we went back into class it all changed
because it was getting sorted out with our teacher and that
spooked me out. So that was my story of the WHEATHER!!!.

This is about the solar systems how everything orbits the sun and how things change. Also because us people are able to relate in a way like me meeting and greeting other people for them to know me in a nice way. When you get to know someone new it's like a chain that keeps on going until you stop meeting  people which is hard because there are millions and billions of people around the world.

Part 1/ Not so long ago our school caretaker
(Mike) was feeling so hōhā (Annoyed). Because
our whole kura wasn’t thinking about what they
had to do with their rubbish. He wanted to resign
(Quit), But my previous Kaiako (Teacher) heard and
wanted to stop it emideitly. So she came into class
discussing what they are going to do. Our Teacher was
making a plan to solve this polution problem around our
school like she does.

Part 2/Her plan was to give each one of us a job to do
each week. That job was rubbish monitor, To make Mikes
(Caretaker) job much easier. So we have been going strong
and hard to achive that goal that we have set for
ourselves. We have been doing this for nearly 2 or
3 weeks now. Our monitors have been doing a great
jobfrom what it looked like before.

Part 3/Only last week one of our monitors had
the courage to give the caretaker a wonderful gift.
He was so inspired by the hard work that Room 6 have
done. I bet it must of warmth his heart all the way up.
Also make him change his mind and put that spark into
him, So he could be the best he can be. Mike just didn’t
see it coming but it did and he loved it with all of his heart.

So I was having a really perfect day from the start onwards.
So I was hanging out with my old class mucking around or having
a really good time like the usual.

So then I joined into their game which was actually really exciting
and nerv racking. To see who would win the race or obstacle for the
MEGA PRIZE!!!. It was arriving to be my turn and I had no idea if I
was going to win or lose but I was so eager to get there. But I was to
eager I had got carried away. So I began talking to myself saying ”
I can do this “ But I got tooo concentrated  into talking to myself.
So this other part of me started talking like” You can’t do this” but
at the same time the other side was” Yes you can do it”.
So then I was pertending to be that guy that says
“ Just do it” So I did and I carried on but taking
the big fat L like the fortnite dance.

So yeah that was my day which was awesome.

I just want to say that no one got it and when
I say no one I mean no one.

What I have done here is to talk about what I have done yesterday. 

I was aiming for this recount to go in a direction which would
make the title sound like what it is natrually about. So I had
tryed to make it as good as I can so me and my class are able
to make it as understandable and easier to get to the pin point.
This was about not being big headed and have the right mind
set that would get you through the day with a big smile on your
face. Also I was trying to make it go the right way to make it...
sound like it can connect to other people just in a different story
that they have told once before.

Bike Day

Monday...the best day of this week.

Me and my class had a great day yesterday we had so many
helpers like the bike crew. Also including some other companys
to help the real crew with all of their things or situations they need
help on. We had a lot of things that were so good like the new Bikes,
Sausages, Milo even a bike which played music while riding it. We had a
mean day, We gotta ride Bikes, Eat limited Sausages, listen to music.

I only had one ride on the Bikes around the track because I don’t like
riding bikes, But I really like eating so I was just eating the Sausages.
I thought there were way more things that were happening. I had no
idea this was happening but I just went with the flow and played along
with what was going on. I really did wish that there was going to be
something else coming but I thought wrong. 

So that was my experience of the Bike day.

Matua Filipe Tohi visit

Kia ora, on Tuesday 03-09-2019 there was a known Tongan
artist and his name was Matua Filipe Tohi. He is a wonderful and
inspiring person to people who really have that art instinct. He did
art and projects that looked amazing. 

But I mostly like the project of the whale, it looked so good.
It had the right caculations and made it look like the exact same
thing that was on the screen but miniture. I really like what it looked
like. It must of taken a long time. I also really like his other work piece.
It was so long so it must have taken so long because all of the details
were in the right place.

This is what it looks like.

The details were so explicit and were able to make animals like
fish and birds. Also the are so close to tukutuku panels in Māori
because of the paterns. He has travled all over the world and
trademarked where his wonderful pacifica art styles.

There is a very weird but traditinoal way to making rope, the
make it from coconut. But even though they make a great and strong
rope which help in a lot and when I say a lot I mean it.

It might not look like anything but it could do a lot of things and
I mean really helpfull things.

So when we were arriving to the end of the presentation, he showed
all of these cool photos which he had done. He even did projects in
museums all over the place. We even so lucky to have him over to our
school because his schdule was so packed for the next two weeks,
they said.

The thing that I really like is the workshops that he has helped out
to give young artists their one thing that would inspire them.

So yeah that is all of the things and parts of that very long
presentatation that I mostly like and hope you would like it the same
way I have.

Te Mana o Te Tangata

Te Mana o Te Tangata

My class and I have watched a wonderful video. It was really inspireing to listen and watch. It was about Mana and standing up for your place in New Zealand and your rights. 

What does Mana mean to me?

Mana means a lot to me but the ones I mostly like are?

• Making sure you don’t think you are on top of every one.
• Having a mindset that would put you into the right place of yourself.
• Standing up for all of your Mana and where you come from is a big part in mana.
• Trying to have a good mood in what you do and trying to look up to Tame iti or someone like Whina Cooper who have massive mana.

It’s also telling the crown (the goverment) a meaningful speach about what you are fighting for.

I also beleive that mana could be a taonga for you if you beleive in where you belong.

Mana is something you can not see it is something you feel and beleive in.

Make sure you are remembering that anything can come to you, but if you do something wrong you could lose your mana.

Also whatever goes around can come around back to you.

Also you can’t judge people, you have the same mana to everyone and anyone around you.

Hello from Tamaki primary. Kia ora I am  really good at a lot of things such as learning. My number one goal for this year is to get much better be the smartest in my class again. I love helping my teina and helping my teacher when she is in need of help. I'm in a Maori class and it's called Te Puna Wairua. I have already learnt so much new kopu in these seven weeks.

Making New Memories

My whānau and I had the best friday in a long time and when I say a long time a mean a long time. So my mum gave me 30 dollars because I have been helping her and I had one of the best games in this season. When we finished our game I asked my friend Terell if he wanted to come to the movies and go have a fun time. So when I got home me and my mum got ready for the fun as day waiting to happen. I was so excited because my sisters were at their dads mucking around over there while me and my mum and baby brother went to go get Terell. So when me and my whanau including Terell we were very close so my mum parked and we went and walked the rest of the way. My mum got some of the money she had in her bank account and brougt something to eat, I had a lot so then we went in the movies and my mum helped us get in to watch the movie. It was fun because me and Terell had the longest game of rock,paper,scissors to decide which movie we were going to watch. It was the best debate that I have had in awhile, My decision was Toy Story 4, Terells one was Lion king. But he lost and I won so we had to watch Toy story 4. I was so happy and excited at the same time because I was jumping everywhere in the waiting part of the movies. I really liked the movie it had a whole bunch of new characters from other movies and just turned it into something better. After that I had some spare money so I spent it on food for home because we had no food like always well actually that's just me because I don’t know how to cook. So yeah when we got home me and Terell went back home and my whānau got pizza from Terells whānau but they still got some for themselves. Me and my mum were watching a movie on tv it was called the None I didn’t understand what it was about but it was still cool to watch. After I had to take some kai to Terell house with him and my sister to make her tired. So after that we went to the school tho play for awhile because my sister and I was so bored. But later on my sister got really tired so we took her back and got her to sleep. I had a great day and I Mostly like the movie part because we got a lot of sweets to eat through the movie. But I was a hunges guy and I ate more than Terell Because he is a slow eater and I was taking a lot of handful so after that he got angry because I ate most of it. I went and got Terell and me had a cool as time because at our game I saw Terell going his hardest to get past all of the other side. I was cracking up because he was trying so hard and just to see the way he was running.

Today me and my class had a lesson for cybersmart with our cybersmart teacher. The kaupapa was what is private to the world and what is public to the world. I had done but all things that relate to my family on the private side and put most of the things that I think that some people would want to know about me. Also when we had a class talk we had a perfect match too.

Today in Cybersmart I completed my Manaiakalani learner questionnaire. 

I really like the question that was about all of our learning but especially the one that said does your work relate to your culture in your learning and it actually does relate to my culture because i'm able to learn much more.. 

Maumaharatanga ANZAC

   

Kia Ora, My school and I had a ANZAC day at Tāmaki Primary, Were most of the classes present one item. First it was Room 1, They each had one speech all about ANZAC that also stands for (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps). So it was Room 2 that went next, they had a wonderful speech with a lot of heart feeling words about ANZAC. Then it was my class which is Te Puna Wairua (Room 5), We had my friend stand up his name is Milan and he had a meaning full speech with all these adjectives. The other boys his name is Delontaye he had a quick poem. Room 6 was very good they put a lot of thought in to theirs which was laying down poppies as remembrance. Room 7 and 8 had some little really quick speeches but still meant a lot. So then Room 10 and 9 had this cool as rap that had a whole bunch of words about ANZAC.

My FUN Rugby Game

Tōku Pepeha

On Thursday of April 2019 we did our kaupapa Raranga
Matihiko it is a digital programme. We needed to know more
about our community and our own pepeha. Te Puna Wairua
did this wonderful activity with manuhiri Ko Whaea Stacy
and Whaea Waimiiria. My whole roopuu had one kaupapa
each, they were their waka, maunga, kura and iwi.

We did this at Taamaki Primary School, in Te Akomanga
Te Puna Wairua by using ipads and imovie. When we went
to the Whare Pupuri Taonga taonga to start the video
process the trip was 100% free of charge. We had
much more activities such as Arai kakariki/Green Screen,
Ao mariko/Virtual Reality , Hakoritanga/Stop Motion,
Karetao/Robots, Peita 3d/Paint 3d and Tinkercad.
