Season poem



WALT:Include the season that you are writing about on a google drawing.
My challenge was to write Maori words and to put the words on the outside of the lightning bolt.

Matariki celebration

Matariki

Matariki means in english is the eyes of god.

Traditionally,Matariki was a time to remember those who had died.

Maori new year once was celebrated but people kept on for getting it.

It affect Maori farming because it is the Maori New Year and to grow crops and lots of more food.

Matariki can be celebrated by kites like as birds,Maori designs,guarding,and lots of other designs.

Describe the sun

It is mostly made out of helium,hydrogen and gas.

In addition you could fit in 1500 thousands of earths in it.

our planets in the solar system.

This is pluto.


Pluto was a planet but in the 2006 scientist called a dwarf planets because there is much dwarf planets like it.
Pluto orbit is kind of wacky because it goes through other planet orbits.
Pluto is one of the smallest dwarf planets.


This is venus.


Venus is the hottest planet even though it is not the closest to the sun.
Venus is the second fastest to orbit the sun.

Venus takes 88 days to orbit the sun so if you live on venus your birthday will be really fast.

Room 8 had a science experiment on Thursday to write about what we see.

Firstly:Ms Bracey set up the science experiment for us to observe what might happen.It was for Room 8 to predict what will happen.
Ms Bracey put primary colours in plastic cups full of water.She put food colouring,it was yellow,red and blue.7 cups in a pattern water, no water,water,no water,water,no water,water.

Secondly:Ms Bracey asked to predict what will happen when it is finished.Our buddies were a post take a look and come back and give us information about what they saw there.


Thirdly:Ms Bracey told us to observe information.We saw a paper towel strip in one of the primary cups and made a secondary colour in the empty cup.The secondary colours were orange and green.The strip was merging with the primary colours into the empty cup.We came back on Friday and looked what happen.

An important fact earth’s rotation is on its axis.When the sun is shining on your side of the planet,the other side is dark and sleepy. Dark side is night,bright side is day.

Did you know half if the earth is facing the sun and the other is facing the universe.In fact one side is asleep and one is awake.Soon,even us are going be facing the universe

We were learning how to make a rap or poem about milk.
We had a really good rap.

Volleyball


Learn volleyball skills to play the game.

Firstly at volleyball you can learn to serve,ready position and stance. In fact you learn how to work in a team and physical skills.

Secondly you should never hit the ball too high or you will injure people and break something. Furthermore you don’t hit it too high or it will interfere with someone's game.

Finally in volleyball you learn skills to play a game with people.

Scraffito

My challenge for this writing was proof reading it. WALT: I learnt about Mokoia pa. My art piece is about Mokoia Pa. It used to be a volcano that's why people went there for the fertile soil. It had lots of food and fish and it guarded by a fence and Maori. Mokoia Pa was close to Tamaki River so they get lots of fish with wakas. All the other tribes wanted to have their pa because it was the best pa.So they would fight for it. Once the two chiefs fought for Mokoia Pa.They wanted it for themselves so there was a big war
and Mokoia Pa was destroyed.

Doubtless Bay.

When did this happen?
In 2012 .

Who are the talking about?
Polynesian voyagers.

Why did they travel?
To see the world but mostly Rapanui.

How did they travel?
With two boats te Aurere and Ngahiraka Mai .
